Lead
Only five players get a Hidden Gems Emerald card in 2026 Bowman Chrome Sapphire Baseball. Two of them wear a White Sox uniform: Munetaka Murakami and Colson Montgomery. If you're picking a team for the insert chase, the South Side is the only club that gives you two of them.
Why the White Sox spot
Most of the league gets nothing from Hidden Gems. Seattle gets Cal Raleigh, Pittsburgh gets Konnor Griffin, St. Louis gets JJ Wetherholt, and the other 26 clubs get none. Chicago gets two. Murakami and Montgomery are both Rookie-tagged on Topps' checklist.
The Sox spot also goes beyond the insert. Murakami has a second chase card in the Image Variations (#76), and Caleb Bonemer is one of only 11 names in Sapphire Selections Autographs, the smaller of the set's two auto lines. That gives one spot an insert double, an image variation and a Selections auto name, all on the White Sox side.
The story is how many chances you get, not which card is worth more. All five Hidden Gems belong to the same family, and Chicago just has the most of them.
