Jaxon Smith-Njigba leads the NFL and Denver is without Surtain: the case for the Seahawks spot in 2026 Topps Flagship Football

Jaxon Smith-Njigba leads the NFL in receiving yards and touchdowns heading into Thursday night at Denver, where the Broncos are without Pat Surtain II and Talanoa Hufanga. That's why the Seahawks spot is the one to feel in CSL's Hobby-only 2026 Topps Flagship Football paper rip.

Lead

Jaxon Smith-Njigba goes into Thursday night leading the NFL with 583 receiving yards and 7 receiving touchdowns through five games, per the NFL.com game log and Seahawks.com. He has topped 100 yards in four of them (122, 155, 128, 76, 102). He walks into Empower Field at Mile High tonight against a Broncos secondary that has ruled out All-Pro corner Pat Surtain II and starting safety Talanoa Hufanga, both with ankle injuries. Kickoff is 7:15 p.m. CT on Prime Video. If you're claiming a spot in Chrome Spot Lab's football break before then, the Seattle Seahawks spot is the one with JSN's auto in it.

The honest caveat is his own ankle. He came out of Sunday's 32–29 loss to the 49ers with it and was limited Monday and Tuesday. He was a full participant Wednesday and has no game status, per Seahawks.com and the NFL.com injury report, which means he is good to go.

Why the Seahawks spot

On CSL's 2026 Topps Flagship Football Hobby break (tff26-hobby-12), you claim one of 32 NFL team spots and run a modeled paper rip. The Seahawks spot puts you on the reigning AP Offensive Player of the Year (Seahawks.com) and the quarterback throwing to him.

JSN's chase runs deeper than Lamb's did in our CeeDee Lamb Cowboys lane. At #178 he has base, Golden Mirror and a vet auto. He also turns up on #283, a three-player base and Golden Mirror card he shares with Trey McBride and Puka Nacua. Sam Darnold carries his own vet auto at #177. The rookie ink comes from Jadarian Price: a #310 Rookie card plus a Flagship First Signatures auto, FFS-JP.

The Broncos side, for contrast. Denver's deepest name on the board is Bo Nix: base, Golden Mirror and vet auto at #58, plus an NFL Material relic, NFLM-BN. Marvin Mims has a vet auto at #63, and rookie Jonah Coleman has #312 plus FFS-JC. Surtain is #60, base and Golden Mirror only, so a Denver claim was never a Surtain-auto chase anyway. Each spot carries three autos (Seattle: JSN, Darnold, Price; Denver: Nix, Mims, Coleman). The choice comes down to whose autos they are, and on a night when JSN leads the league, that tilts toward Seattle.

Context under the feel (receipted only)

Seahawks.com's bio lists JSN's 2025 as an AP Offensive Player of the Year, unanimous first-team AP All-Pro season, and Seattle won Super Bowl LX. From the NFL.com log he is at 116.6 yards a game (583 in five games) and 15.8 a catch on 37 receptions. His best day so far was Week 2 at Arizona: 9 catches, 155 yards, 3 touchdowns.

Both teams are 3–2. Seattle's other absences tonight: Charbonnet (knee), linebacker Drake Thomas and linebacker Chazz Surratt are out (NFL.com and Seahawks.com). Denver also lists corner Riley Moss as questionable (ribs).

Denver comes in off a 23–17 win at the Chargers. The Broncos trailed 17–10 in the third quarter, then scored 13 fourth-quarter points, with three takeaways in the game (AP). Nix went 16-of-27 for 123 yards, and his 5-yard touchdown to Courtland Sutton tied it at 17 (NFL game book and ESPN).

The claim stays JSN (+ Darnold, Price) → Seahawks lane.
